The University of Oklahoma Life Stage Solutions is a group of Professional Care Managers who help you navigate the complex choices of obtaining the necessary healthcare, housing, and quality of life options for your loved one.
What is a Care Manager?
A Care Manager is a professional with specialized knowledge and expertise in caring for seniors and persons with disabilities. Sometimes Care Managers are also called case managers, geriatric care managers, elder care managers, service coordinators or care coordinators. Our Care Managers are individuals who evaluate your situation, identify solutions, and work with you to design a plan for maximizing your loved one’s safety, independence and well being.
If you have an aging loved one or a disabled family member, you may be asking some of these questions:
- Is it safe for Mom to live alone?
- Is it time for Mom to be in a rest home? If so, how do I know which ones are good?
- Is Mom getting the best medical care? Is she getting the correct medical care? What should I ask the doctor?
- How do I learn more about Alzheimer’s?
- How will I find more hours in my day to provide the best care for Mom?
- What’s the best kind of wheelchair to get? Or do we need a walker?
